It was quite mysterious actually, and I remember sitting in that corridor waiting for my turn.

After a number of years, Morgoth cults — with Sauron as their chief priest — operated in the open and Sauron became a key adviser to the king, promising faith in Morgoth would allow them to step foot in Aman and obtain immortality. I think the problem with a lot of sci-fi/fantasy tales is that they mistake complexity for depth, and Peter Jackson does a great job of avoiding this trap.

Should the series continue beyond Númenor’s downfall, it is possible audiences could see two of the five Wizards arrive in Middle-earth. If I were allowed just one nitpick with the film (and really, with the series as a whole), I’d have to go with the sometimes overwhelmingly simplistic “good vs. evil” theme prevalent throughout.
